After the success of the acclaimed "The Silver Scream", Ice Nine Kills is back with the long awaited sequel to the album. With 14 previously unreleased tracks (17 in its deluxe physical version, including 2 orchestral versions of singles and 1 commentary track from Spencer) inspired by the greatest horror classics, "The Silver Scream 2: Welcome To Horrorwood" is available on all digital platforms through Fearless Records. The new album, like its predecessor, was produced by Drew Fulk (Fit For A King, Motionless In White, I Prevail) and follows the line of "Theatricore" as the band calls itself, mixing metalcore already characteristic in the sound of INK with theatrical elements. The similarities with the band's latest works are not just in the sound, the formula of telling a story through the music videos released to promote the singles follows the same way it was done in "The Silver Scream", each music video tells a part of the story and is based on a classic. In "The Silver Scream 2: Welcome To Horrorwood" the singles were released as "exhibit" and unlike the previous album in which the characters in the videos were fictional figures, this time the band preferred to bring the vocalist himself as the protagonist of the stories. Each video tells a part of the story in which Spencer Charnas is the target of a police investigation because of the evidence found in the videos and in the lyrics of the singles. "Hip To Be Scared" was the first "exhibit" released, the track is inspired by the classic "American Psycho (2000)" and features Jacoby Shaddix from Papa Roach.
The second "exhibit" is "Assault & Batteries", inspired by the classic "Child's Play (1988)". At the end of the video we can see the beginning of the police investigation that puts Spencer as the main suspect in a recent murder that took his fiancee's life.
"Rainy Day" is the third "exhibit" and has the famous franchise of games and movies "Resident Evil" as inspiration and unlike the other tracks, it is divided into 2 videos, the first being the music video for the single and the second bringing more focus on narrative and further deepening the investigation.

Part 2:
"Pet Sematary (1989)" is the inspiration behind the 4th and final "exhibit" before the album's release. The music video for the single "Funearal Derangements" shows the investigation progressing with the police using all the evidence to prove Spencer's guilt and finally solve the case.
"The Silver Scream 2: Welcome To Horrorwood" itself is considered the last "exhibit", the tracks "Opening Night..." and "Welcome To Horrorwood" are original and although they are not inspired by any film specifically, they serve to connect the listener to the plot proposed by the general concept of music videos and songs.
Overall, the new album expands the concept used by the band since 2015, with the album "Every Trick in The Book" which was released taking inspiration from several literary classics, all of which evolved in a promising way to become what it is today and shows how much Ice Nine Kills has improved in recent years to reach its best form. The highlights of the album are the tracks "Welcome To Horrorwood", "A Rash Decision", "Take Your Pick", "The Box" and "Farewell II Flesh".
